LONDON - The European Union's securities watchdog said on Thursday it was reviewing how mutual funds and alternative investment funds assess the valuations of less liquid assets.
"The current economic conditions underline the importance of assessing valuation risks which may pose a potential threat to financial stability and this exercise is of utmost importance to effectively address this risk at EU level," the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) said in a statement.
