Increasing numbers of Polish women are crossing European borders in search of abortions.

Poland has some of the toughest abortion laws in Europe, and because of that the vast majority of terminations that happen in Poland are carried out in secret.

It is estimated there are up to 200,000 Polish backstreet terminations every year.

While women’s groups are campaigning for the laws to be relaxed, pro-life hardliners are calling for them to be tightened up even further.
