American air guitarist Matthew “Airistotle” Burns was crowned winner of the World Air Guitar Championship in Oulu, Finland, as contestants from several countries strummed their stuff in a bid to become the King of Air. Air guitar players from around the world performed in the four day event, strum the air in time to music, to form a fake guitar riff.
Burns, a waiter from New York City, was able to defend his title, with Germany’s Patrick “Ehrwolf” Culek and Astralia’s Alexander “The Jinja Assassin” Roberts tied in second place

Following tradition, all contestants took to the stage after the winner was announced to perform together.
The Air Guitar World Championships have been organised in Oulu, Finland annually since 1996.
