Beyonce gathered the gongs at the MTV Video Music awards, including the top trinket, video of the year.

Beyonce gathered the gongs at the MTV Video Music awards, including the top trinket, video of the year for Queen B.

The work also picked up best female video and awards for choreography, editing, and long form video in the awards voted on by fans.

She now passes Madonna as the most decorated artist.

She reserved her thanks for her family:
“First of all I’d like to thank my beautiful daughter and my incredible husband for all of their support.”

Beyonce then delivered five songs from her acclaimed album ‘Lemonade’ that the brought the packed Madison Square Garden to its feet.

Rihanna was presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award by Canadian rapper Drake. The lifetime achievement award celebrates Rihanna’s outstanding career by the age of 28.

Rihanna spoke about the meaning of success:” You know, my success, it started as my dream, but now my success is not my own, you know. It’s my family’s, it’s my fans’, it’s my country’s, it’s the Caribbean as a whole, it’s women, it’s black women.”

With sales exceeding 200 million records worldwide, Rihanna is one of the best-selling artists of all time.

Britney Spears returned to the VMA stage for the first time in a decade. It was the singer’s first time on the VMA stage since her humiliating 2007 performance when her personal and professional life was falling apart, and follows the release of her new album ‘Glory.’
