Italian car maker Maserati is recalling nearly 21,000 of its luxury vehicles in China.

That is because of a potential problem with the driver’s side floor mat and the accelerator pedal, according to China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

As a result of the mat moving the accelerator could get stuck down.

Maserati, which is owned by Fiat Chrysler, will replace the mat and pedal cover without charge on the recalled models – the Quattroporte and Ghibli made between early 2013 and the end of 2015.

This follows a similar recall in the United States earlier in March which covered more than 28,000 cars.

There were four reported incidents in the US, but it is not believed they caused any accidents or injuries.
