The second night of Carnival parades at the Rio de Janeiro Sambadrome opened on February 16 with a vibrant tribute to late Brazilian singer Rita Lee.

Samba school Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel filled the Marques de Sapucai Sambadrome with bright colors and a psychedelic aesthetic.
Large floats referencing Lee’s legacy moved along the avenue as dancers and drummers performed before cheering crowds, marking the start of the evening’s celebrations.
