An unusual agreement on a temporary ceasefire at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was reached between Ukraine and Russia to allow repairs and prevent a potential nuclear accident.

On the night of Saturday into Sunday Russia launched 48 drones in anovernight attack on Ukraine.

Multiple regions were targeted including the Donetsk region where a 51-year-old man was killed by a gliding bomb on the city of Sloviansk whilst in his garden.

Another five people were injured in attacks on the region of Kherson.

Meanwhile, dozens of firefighters battled a residential blaze in the hope of saving people's homes, following a drone strike in the southern region of Odesa.

In Sumy's northern region an infrastructure facility was hit twice, Ukraine's State Emergency Service said the second time rescuers were already at the scene, however no one was hurt.

An unusual agreement on a temporary ceasefire at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was reached between Ukraine and Russia to allow repairs and prevent a potential nuclear accident.

Moscow released footage it says shows artillery units targeting Ukrainian positions in an undisclosed location in the Donetsk region. In response, Ukraine carried out attacks of its own.

Ukrainian drones struck the Syzran Oil Plant in Russia’s Samara region, as well as on several Russian military sites in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory, according to a Ukrainian official.

In the meantime diplomatic efforts are underway as Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has arrived in Miami is on a visit to the US to discuss the proposed peace plan.
