Britain's competition watchdog investigates Liqui-Box deal for DS Smith unit

(Reuters) - Britain's competition watchdog said on Friday it was investigating if U.S.-based Liqui-Box's planned takeover of DS Smith Plc's ‍flexible and rigid plastic business could hurt market competition.

The deal, which was announced in March, values the London-listed company's plastic packaging unit at up to $585 million.
