PARIS (Reuters) - Russian Oleg Petrov has been appointed as general director of AS Monaco, the French football club said on Friday.
Petrov was hired after vice-president Vadim Vasilyev was sacked by the Ligue 1 side last week.
Petrov is a well-known figure in the global potash industry as he was the head of sales at Russia’s Uralkali, one of the world’s largest producers of the crop nutrient, until 2015.
Uralkali was previously owned by businessman Dmitry Rybolovlev, current major shareholder at AS Monaco.
