Firefighters rescue deer from icy lake in Kansas

Firefighters in the US state of Kansas have come to the rescue of a deer that fell through the ice on Lake Olathe.

Wearing special suits, the Olathe firefighters pulled the animal to shore on Sunday.

It rested for several minutes before running off, apparently uninjured.

Firefighter Blake Richardson said the ice looked deceptively thick and rescuing the deer was a team effort.
