Protesters from across the United States marched on the capital for the third annual Women’s March on Washington.
An all-female group of drummers were among thousands of protesters from across the United States hammering home their message in the capital for the third annual Women’s March on Washington.
But numbers were much smaller than in 2017 when organisers were reacting to the inauguration of Donald Trump as president.
The march took place despite controversy surrounding the national Women's March organisation, including claims of anti-semitism.
This year demonstrators also focussed on the partial government shutdown that was into its 29th day.
