Argentine soccer great Diego Maradona has left a clinic in Buenos Aires after treatment for internal bleeding in his stomach.

He'd been admitted on Friday after a rouine examination discovered the bleeding.

"For those who were really worried about my dad I can tell you that he is well," his daughter Dalma wrote on twitter.

Maradonna, who is 58, has had many health problems, often put down to his extravagant lifestyle and abuse of cocaine.

He last fell ill at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where he was filmed passing out in an executive box at the Argentina-Nigeria game.

He was due to return to Mexico where he coaches the second division side Dorados de Sinaloa and just hours before being admitted had signed up to a second season there.

Maradona was taken into hospital in 2004 with severe heart and respiratory problems linked to cocaine use. He later underwent drug rehabilitation in Cuba and Argentina before a stomach-stapling operation in 2005 helped him lose weight.
