Russia pensions protest

Plans to raise the pension age in Russia have drawn thousands of protestors onto the streets of Moscow.

The Russian government wants to raise the pension age from 60 to 65 for men, and from 55 to 63 for women to help cope with a shrinking workforce.

Some 12000 people joined the authorised demonstration in the capital and there were also protests in dozens of towns and cities across the country.
