President Macron has met with head of rights group 'Memorial' and Solzhenitsyn's widow in Russia

French President Emmanuel Macron has met the head of Russia’s oldest rights group as well as the widow of Alexander Solzhenitsyn, the Nobel literature laureate and prominent dissident of the Soviet.

Macron faced calls from fans and critics alike to address human rights and democratic values during his trip to Russia.

The French President has already held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the crisis in Syria and the Iran nuclear deal.
