Climate change and reform of the Europe expected to dominate as French President Emmanuel Macron gets ready to address delegates at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Last month the French President delivered a bleak assessment in the fight against global warming, declaring "We are losing the battle".

We all need to act,” Macron said, seeking to breathe new life into the Paris Climate Change agreement following President Donald Trump decision to pull the United States out of an international accord brokered in the French capital two years ago. It is his first speech at Davos since the election in May. Speaking on the same day as Angela Merkel, he is here to reaffirm his commitment to reforming the European Union. Emmanuel Macron is definitely one of the Davos star speakers. Since Donald Trump decided to withdraw the US from the Paris accord, the French President has been trying to take the lead on climate change with his “Make our planet great again’ moto."
Green activists have praised the French president for his environmental stance, but are calling on him to do more at home and transform France into a green economy.
Greenpeace's International Executive Director Jennifer Morgan told Euronews: "It's very good that President Macron is out there, but he needs to do more at home. He needs to transform France's Economy in to a renewable spaced economy and then he needs to work with chancellor Merkel and other European leaders to get Europe to be great again on climate change because Europe's been in a bit of a funk on climate and we need them to move forward and drive ambition, particularly with the Trump's presidency.
France recently announced a raft of 12 non-binding commitments, including commitments to fight and accelerate the transition toward a decarbonised economy.
