It skids and slams into the side of the recovery truck, the impact throwing the vehicle into the air as it narrowly misses the rescuer.
A police officer is then seen rushing to the recovery truck driver to get him away from the busy traffic.
Michigan State Police used the tweet to remind drivers to slow down in bad weather and to give police a lane.
Local media reported that the recovery truck driver, police officer and the two drivers involved in the accident were uninjured.
