The footage shows the trio dive into the water seconds before their craft is mowed down by a bigger boat.

This is the moment US fishermen jumped ship and narrowly missed being mowed down by another boat.

The footage shows the trio frantically trying to catch the attention of the vessel’s skipper, before diving into the water at the last moment.

It happened near Portland, Oregon, on August 12, 2017, but the video was only this week published by Salmon Trout Steelheader Magazine.

Local media report a $372,500 (€303,000) lawsuit has been filed against the driver of the oncoming boat.

The trio involved used the incident to raise awareness about the importance of wearing a lifejacket at sea.
