Israel army tanks and aircraft targeted two "Hamas posts" after Israel's Iron Dome missile defence system intercepted two rockets fired from the Gaza Strip on Friday (December 29), according to the Israeli Defence Forces.

A third rocket hit a building in the regional council of Shaar Hanegev in Israel's southern district.

A picture of the area where the rocket hit was tweeted by the official account of Israel Police.

Alarms went off in Shaar Hanegev and Sdot Negev councils, prompting people to throw themselves to the ground during a ceremony for Oron Shaul, an Israeli soldier who died during the 2014 Gaza war.

The Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz posted a video of the scene.
