Football: Bayern Munich have sacked manager Carlo Ancelotti a day after a 3-0 Champions League loss to Paris-Saint Germain.

Last season – the Italian’s first at the helm of the Bavarian giants – Ancelotti led the club to the Bundesliga title but failed to progress beyond the quarter-final stage of the Champions League or German Cup. Bayern currently lie third in the domestic league.
Assistant manager Willy Sagnol will take charge temporarily before Bayern’s board decide on a new permanent manager.
