All youngsters love a birthday party.

But for cute panda twins Qing Qing and Bing Bing it was a double celebration.

Well-wishers turned out in force on Friday to help the furry pair celebrate turning two at the Dujiangyan giant panda research base in southwest China’s Sichuan province

A yummy, iced birthday cake, made with carrot and apple juice, meant there was plenty to get their teeth into.

And while cardboard boxes might not be everyone’s idea of a great present, this brother and sister loved them, rolling around on the grass.

Giant pandas generally start to live alone after two so Qing Qing and Bing Bing may soon be separated.

But for now they’re just enjoying their birthday – and each other’s company.
