Barcelona have confirmed that Brazilian striker Neymar is leaving the Catalan club.

Reports say he is set to join Paris St Germain in a world record deal.

A Catalan radio report said he told team mates this morning he was moving to the French club and left the training area minutes later.

Barcelona then tweeted: acknowledging that Neymar did not train on Wednesday morning, with the permission of the coach. In a separate post restricted to the press, the Spanish giants said the 25-year-old would depart but gave no further details.

The player’s contract with Barcelona runs till 2021 but PSG are thought to be ready to pay his buyout clause set at 222 million euros.

Earlier this week it emerged that Barca were considering pushing for a Financial Fair Play investigation if the Ligue 1 club triggered the release clause.
