United cause city problems in Houston

Manchester City had a problem in Houston as they took on rivals Manchester United in the first Manchester derby to be played
outside the UK.

United boss Jose Mourinho dubbed the encounter a “glorified training” session still, 67,000 packed into the NRG Stadium.

With reputations to be made ahead of the new season, the performance of City’s pricey new Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson was of interest.

On 37 minutes we had the clash of the new boys as United’s Romelu Lukaku bore down on the City custodian.

Lukaku won hands down to give United the lead and send shivers through the city faithful after their recent spate of dodgy keepers.

Two minutes later Henrikh Mkhitaryan played in Marcus Rashford who glided the ball home in what proved to be the last of the night.

Still no smiles from Jose, but he Pep shared a muted embrace

Man United 2-0 Man City.
