Orange-clad citizens across the country celebrated by holding parties and street sales.

In the Netherlands on Thursday, thousands of people donned the national colour orange to celebrate the 50th birthday of King Willem-Alexander.

Street parties abound across the country as people are allowed to put up tables or roll out carpets on their doorsteps to sell small goods or perform for crowds.
