France got their Six Nations title challenge back on track after battling past Scotland at the Stade de France on Saturday.

Guy Noves’ men lost their opener to England a week ago, but emerged 22-16 victors against the Scots following a tense and scrappy game.

Camille Lopez hit 17 points with the boot while the only French try came from Gael Fickou.

Scotland salvaged a bonus point for keeping the scoreline deficit to fewer than seven points.

The result leaves both teams on five points – the same as Wales, who lost to reigning Grand Slam champions and Six Nations leaders England on Saturday.

Eddie Jones’ side are on eight points two clear of Ireland, who beat bottom of the pile Italy in their round two fixture.
