Cameras capture the moment 19 blocks of flats were demolished in just 10 seconds
These 19 blocks of flats in the Chinese city of Wuhan used to stand where a new business park and 700-metre tall skyscraper is planned.
That is before five tonnes of explosives were packed into the buildings, some of which stood at twelve storeys tall, and the towers were razed to the ground.
In just 10 seconds the majority of the Hankou Binjiang estate was no more.
Jia Yongsheng, the director of the demolition company responsible, said the procedure was “quite ideal”, as “there was no damage (or) adverse effects of the blast” to the light rail and public facilities surrounding the estate.
