Buried under snow for two days, four children and a woman have been pulled from the wreckage of a hotel in central Italy flattened by an avalanche.

In total ten people have been found alive, and rescuers are working through the night to find more survivors.

Around 20 people are still missing after a wall of snow slammed into the Hotel Rigopiano, and so far two bodies have been recovered.

Rescue efforts have been hampered by the heavy snowfall and risk of further earthquakes which were believed to have triggered the deadly avalanche

While the survivors were rushed to hospital to be treated for hypothermia, friends and relatives of those still missing gathered at there desperate for news of their loved ones.
