Facebook to boost UK staff at London HQ

The British government has hailed Facebook’s decision to expand its UK operations as “proof that business is confident” in the economy.

The social media giant plans to hire 500 more staff for its new HQ in London’s West End, a move that comes on the back of Google’s decision last week to build a fresh hub in the capital.

Facebook says Britain remains one of the “best places to be a tech company and by the end of next year it will employ 1,500 people.”
