An SOS has been sent out from the UN about food running out in eastern Aleppo in Syria.
The humanitarian advisor to the UN Special Envoy says the situation has become critical for the quarter of a million people stuck in the besieged city.
Jan Egeland told a media conference: “The report we have now, from within east Aleppo is that, the last food rations are being distributed as we speak.
“There will not be more to distribute next week.”
Fingers are crossed that a new UN humanitarian plan sent to all sides in the conflict will be accepted, allowing for the delivery of food and medical supplies.
