US presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have released their final campaign ads on the eve of election day.

During a two-minute slot on US prime time TV on Monday night Clinton made her last pitch to voters, calling for a ‘‘stronger, fairer America.’‘

Speaking into the camera the Democratic nominee said: “Tomorrow you get to pick our next president. It’s not just my name and my opponent’s name on the ballot. It’s the kind of country we want for our children and grandchildren. Is America dark and divisive or hopeful and inclusive?’‘

Meanwhile, Trump used his ad to attack the Washington establishment, hitting on issues including international trade deals, economic and foreign policy, and immigration.

“Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt political establishment with a new government controlled by you, the American people,” the Republican nominee said.
