Sebastien Ogier celebrated victory at a wet and muddy Wales Rally GB to hand his Volkswagen team the Manufacturers’ title for a fourth consecutive year.

The Frenchman, who secured his fourth straight Drivers’ title earlier this month when he won in Spain, led the penultimate round from start to finish, ending the event 10.2 seconds clear of Estonia’s Ott Tanak for his fourth GB rally in a row.

Tanak maintained the pressure on Ogier all the way to the wire and despite being quickest in all six tests on Sunday, including the Power Stage Ogier, the DMack driver had to settle for second place.

Thierry Neuville of Belgium was third in the UK over a minute back and that result helped him strengthen his grip on the runners-up spot in the Drivers’ Championship ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen who finished the weekend in 12th position.

The season concludes with Rally Australia which starts on November 17.
