Kevin Gameiro scored a brace of goals while Dimitri Payet and Antoine Griezmann hit one apiece as France beat Bulgaria 4-1 in their second Group A World Cup qualifier at the Stade de France on Friday.

France now have four points from their two opening games, the same number of points as the Netherlands, who beat Belarus by the same scoreline, and Sweden who downed Luxembourg 1-0.

Cristiano Ronaldo netted four times to help European Champions Portugal thrash minnows Andorra 6-0 in Group B.

Ronaldo’s first two came in the opening four minutes of the match.

Joao Cancelo and Andre Silva completed the rout in Aveiro.

It was Portugal’s first win of the campaign and they sit in third place a point behind surprise package the Faroe Islands, who beat Latvia and three points adrift of leaders Switzerland who beat Hungary 3-2.

The Red Devils of Belgium maintained their perfect record in Group H with a comprehensive 4 – 0 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina.

An own goal by Emir Spahic was followed by goals from Eden Hazard, Toby Alderweireld and Romelu Lukaku as Belgium top the group on six points – the same as 2004 European champions Greece who beat Cyprus 2-0.

Estonia beat Gibraltar 4-0 to keep the Rock firmly at the bottom of the group.
