They never dreamed they would still be in France at this stage of Euro 2016, but thousands of Welsh fans arrived in Lyon on Wednesday ahead of their team’s semi-final against Portugal.

The Portuguese also made their presence felt but they were expected to be outnumbered.

The Welsh football supporters association said it expected more than 20,000 to travel to the French city.

Some 12,000 have tickets for the match, for the rest there are pubs or the fan zone’s big screen.

With Portugal having failed to win any of their matches in normal time, many of the Welsh are daring to dream of Paris – and a possible final against France or Germany.
