Ziggy Marley likes a challenge; as well as the day job as a musician, he’s tried his hand at politics and more recently acting.
The 47-year-old has just released his sixth studio album entitled ‘Ziggy Marley’:“When we were naming the album, I couldn’t find a name, so I called it ‘Ziggy Marley.’ But after the fact, I kind of realised – I gave it a reason for being that way when I analysed what we had done. How I feel about it is that, on this record, I was engineer, I did all type of things the odd jobs, that I wouldn’t normally do.”
DANCEHALLUSA (The seven-time Grammy winner is adding political spice to his lyrics against a backdrop of uplifting reggae-pop:"I saw what was happening in the world and in the Middle East, in Russia, all of this happening – people suffering, common people who just want to live in peace and love, suffering because of politics and religious strife. People just want to live and love each other, no matter what you are or who I. We just want to live in peace. We don't need to dominate – make you believe what I believe. We are good. Too much of that. So this album is inspiration. It's a message."
