Holders Barcelona will look to bounce back from their El Clasico defeat to arch rivals Real Madrid on Saturday when they face Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their last eight clash at the Camp Nou.

Barca have won the past six meetings against Atleti and this season are bidding to become the first team to defend their title.

Atletico Madrid are playing this stage of the competition for the third consecutive year and for a third consecutive time against Spanish opposition.

They lost last season at this stage to Real Madrid but beat Barca in 2014 in the last eight on their way to the final, which they lost to city rivals Real Madrid.

Diego Simeone’s men are currently second in La Liga six points behind Barca but they haven’t beaten the Catalan giants in their previous six matches.

The other quarter-final fixture on Tuesday sees five-times European champions Bayern Munich host two-time winners Benfica in the pair’s first leg tie at the Allianz Arena.

On Wednesday Paris Saint Germain entertain the English Premier League’s sole survivor Manchester City while The Germans of Wolfsburg host ten-times champions Real Madrid.
