A military plane has crashed in Ecuador’s jungle killing all 22 people on board.

Nineteen soldiers had been heading to a parachuting course when the aircraft came down in the country’s Amazon region. Two pilots and one mechanic were also killed.

Ecuador’s president tweeted his condolences over the tragedy.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
