What started as a rainy day at the beach turned into the scene of a sea rescue in Portsall on France’s stormy coastline yesterday (February 8).
Video of the incident depicts an elderly couple who get into trouble as they are swept down a beach by the strong tide. Another beach goer wades in after them and, despite holding the pair above water for a moment, all three are then pulled under by a large wave.
In events that were not caught on camera, a second rescuer, Eric Roudaut, described to French media how he noticed the emergency and waded in, assisting in the rescue of the couple an assuring that all three made it safely to dry land.
