Burkina Faso’s President Kaboré has condemned the attack on the Splendid Hotel as “cowardly and vile.”

With the news of multiple operations taking place in Ouagadougou,
euronews’ Christophe Garach got all the latest from Salouka Boureima, africanews correspondent in the capital.

He said:

“The assault on the Hotel Yibi is over. Security forces have not yet gone into great detail about what happened during the second operation, but what is clear is that it’s over.

“Security Minister Simon Compaoré has given an initial death toll of 23 people, of 18 different nationalities. At least three assailants were killed, including at least one woman of African origin.”

Following the interview, a national gendarme officer confirmed four attackers had been killed, including two women.
