Russian police have arrested the governor of the northern Komi region and 18 other officials in a high-profile corruption case. Vyacheslav Gayzer is accused of heading a criminal group suspected of illegally acquiring state property. The charges against Gayzer follow the arrest in March of another regional governor, Alexander Khoroshavin who headed the far eastern Sakhalin region on bribery charges.
