Brazil opens probe against former president Lula da Silva

Brazilian prosecutors have opened a formal investigation into allegations of influence-peddling by former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

The probe centres on whether he used his connections overseas to benefit the country’s largest engineering firm Oderbrecht.
