Frank Lampard will have to wait to make his Major League Soccer debut after he was ruled out of the New York City FC’s match against Toronto FC on Sunday with a calf strain.
The former Chelsea midfielder signed for the newest MLS franchise in July 2014 but spent last season on loan at Manchester City.
Lampard left Stamford Bridge after an impressive 13-year career at the London club where he was the club’s record goalscorer and won three Premier League titles, the Champions League and the Europa League among other trophies.
