People in some parts of Germany are scratching their heads, wondering what is going on with the weather.

After days of very high temperatures, which have hit records in some parts of Europe, there were hailstorms, flash floods and tornadoes.

On Sunday Germany recorded its highest-ever temperature in Kitzingen where it reached 40.3C

While the UK recorded the hottest weather in eight years with the thermometer hitting 34C, the temperature reached 40C in parts of France while it was as high as 44C in the Spanish city of Cordoba.

A lot of the damage was seen in the states of Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, where hailstones the size of golf balls were witnessesed.
