It has been ess than a week since he left the Catalan giants with a cabinet packed full of winner’s medals but Xavi says he has not come to Qater to rest on his former glories.

“I arrive here with all the hopes in the world, with much humility to work, to adapt and tread carefully to see how the group and the team functions and to try to achieve the objectives, which are to win titles,” he said. “I would like to win the Qatar league, the cup and the Asian Champions League,” Xavi added.

Xavi has signed a two-year contract with a 12-month extension clause. He’ll also coach the side and carry out ambassadorial duties for the 2022 World Cup in the emirates.
