As part of commemorations for the victims of South Korea’s sunken ferry Sewol, an attempt has been made to create a new world record for a candlelit vigil. The event came a day after the first anniversary of the sinking that killed more than 300 people. Some 4,475 people turned out with candles for the vigil, apparently breaking the record.
