Morocco’s Rachid El Morabity produced a stunning performance to clinch the third leg of the Marathon des Sables on Tuesday.
The reigning champion completed the 36.7km trek from El Otfal to Jebel Zireg in a winning time of 2 hours 53 minutes and 37 seconds while Sweden’s Elisabet Barnes reigned supreme in the women’s event, giving her a major boost ahead of Wednesday’s decisive 91.7km run from Zireg jebel and Jdaïd.
