America’s Michael Phelps may be allowed to compete at the World Championships in Russia.

The 29-year-old was given a six-month competitive ban plus exclusion from the Worlds in April after he was charged with driving under the influence in his hometown of Baltimore this past September.

The 18-time Olympic gold medallist had qualified for the 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 200m medley at the Worlds prior to the issue of his ban.
