More than 50 people were arrested in Sao Paolo during protests against public transport price rises.

About 2,000 people turned out in Brazil’s largest city in echoes of nationwide protests in 2013.

The demonstration was mostly peaceful but there were reports of looting and vandalism, and police fired stun grenades to break up crowds.
