Not Noel or Liam, but Elizabeth is the lucky Gallagher who gets to travel round the world for free.
Toronto resident Jordan Axani issued a plea for a woman with the same name as his ex-girlfriend to accompany him on the once in a lifetime trip.
The man was inundated with offers: “We heard from hundreds of people from around the world who wanted to change their name to Elizabeth Gallagher. Then we heard from many, many Elizabeth Gallaghers from around the world. When we get down to Canadian Elizabeth Gallaghers there were 18,” said Jordan.
The Elizabeth Gallagher due to travel must be delighted that the cheap tickets were subject to a no-transfer clause.
She insists that everything will be above board on board: “He seems nice enough and he seems like someone I can get along with. There’s been enough media coverage on this that it can’t be that weird.”
The pair set off on Sunday from New York and take in Milan, Prague, Paris, Bangkok and New Delhi.
