Pro-tour cycling team Astana face an anxious wait to know whether it will be eligible to compete next season.

The Kazakh outfit has provisionally been left off the list of teams able to participate in pro-tour races next season following two high-profile doping cases and three others in it’s continental team.

Brothers Maxim and Valentin Iglinskiy both tested positive for EPO earlier this year.

The governing body, the UCI, is to make a final decision on whether or not to award a WorldTour licence to the team next week.

Astana boast 2014 Tour de France winner Vincenzo Nibali amongst its ranks although the Italian could be contractually free to leave the team if they face a season without the WorldTour.
