The prestigious match, UEFA Super Cup, will take place at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in 2027, before passing the baton to Astana Arena in Astana, Kazakhstan, in 2028. Kazakhstan has obtained the chance to host such a major match, marking a historic first for the country.

The decision was made and officially announced by the UEFA Executive Committee.

Since 2013, the Super Cup venue has changed every year, moving to a new location each time. Kazakhstan has obtained the chance to host such a major match, marking a historic first for the country. For the uninitiated, the UEFA Super Cup is a single-match curtain-raiser where the Champions League and Europa League winners meet.

Beyond the Super Cup, the Thessaloniki meeting produced several other key venue decisions. The 2028 UEFA Champions League final will take place in Munich, while Camp Nou in Barcelona was picked for the 2029 edition.

The Astana Arena sports complex seats 30,000 spectators. The venue has also hosted high-profile tournaments, including the Champions League and the Europa League matches.

It is worth recalling that the reigning UEFA Super Cup champions are PSG, who defeated Aston Villa 2–1, thanks to goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue.
