The most lucrative deal in US professional sport was made this week when Baseball’s Giancarlo Stanton agreed an jaw-dropping contract extension worth 259 million euros over 13 years.

The deal with the Miami Marlins includes a no-trade clause for the 25 year-old who has hit a total of 154 home runs in five Major League seasons.

The American outfielder increases his 428 thousand euro salary to 20 million per season.
